Who is behind Alarmi and why
Alarmi is built by one developer at JL Screen Oy in Espoo, Finland. This page says plainly who is behind the service.
Why I built Alarmi
The Rescue Act amendment (act 436/2023) moved responsibility for smoke alarms to the building owner as of 1 January 2026: the housing company must provide the alarms and keep them in working order. The obligation is clear, but showing it is being met is not. A register can live in a spreadsheet, but then the board sends the messages, sends the reminders and records the answers itself.
I built Alarmi for exactly that gap: residents confirm the test from an email link in a few clicks, the company sees coverage in real time, and reminders, confirmations, delivered paper notices and visits leave a timestamped per-apartment trail and a PDF report.

Alarmi did not appear out of thin air. JL Screen Oy (business ID 3511210-9) is my company in Espoo, which has been building websites for Finnish businesses under the JL Sites name since before Alarmi. Clients include property-services companies, and the JL Sites customer reviews are publicly visible on Google.
The same principles apply to both: a lightweight build with no platform lock-in. The data is always yours. Alarmi extends that same work toward housing companies.

A direct line to the maker
When you get in touch, I answer myself. In practice that means three things:
- Fast support:I answer support requests myself, usually within the same business day.

- Your data stays yours:you can export the register as a CSV file at any time.
Your data and continuity
The housing company's data belongs to the housing company. These principles are also written into the terms of service:
- The server and database are in the EU, and data is processed in accordance with the GDPR.
- You can export your data (CSV/PDF) at any time.
- Generated PDF reports are dated documents that remain valid in your records even if you stop using the service.
- Nothing is deleted when the trial ends. The account switches to read-only.

I write Alarmi's guides and tools myself. I use primary sources: the law text in Finlex and guidance from the Ministry of the Interior, SPEK, Isännöintiliitto and Tukes. Every page lists its sources and the date they were checked.
I always keep what the law requires apart from what the guidance recommends. Every page says that I make Alarmi. The guides are not legal advice.
